Baja California, MexicoJust south of San Diego's border you will find yourself in another world. Tijuana, Rosarito and Ensenada are three cities close to the border with easy transportation to and from the United States. Waterfront hotels and restaurants offer a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere for all vacationers. If you are not a citizen of the U.S. you will need your passport and a Multiple Entry Visa or the Visa Waiver I-94 Form to visit Mexico. A Tourist Visa is needed for a foreigner who wants to stay more than 72 hours or wants to travel further south than the checkpoint just south of Maneadero at El Zorillo near km 31.5 (about 19 miles south of Ensenada on the Transpeninsular Highway). On the east coast of Baja, the Visa is needed if traveling south of San Felipe. In order to obtain a Tourist Visa, valid for up to six months, you must present a valid passport or original/certified birth certificate and valid drivers license or photo ID. Once you have filled out the Visa form and had it stamped you must pay a fee (currently $170 pesos or its equivalent in U.S. dollars) at a Mexican bank before leaving the country. The Visa and fee is applicable for visitors of all ages. For up-to-date information on requirements and procedures contact Instant Mexican Insurance Services at 619-428-4714. ENSENADA: Enjoy ENSENADA Known as the "Cinderella of the Pacific", Ensenada is located 70 miles south of the international border, a 90-minute drive from San Diego. Its warm Mediterranean climate, friendly atmosphere and accessibility by land, air, and sea have made Ensenada a favorite tourist destination for many years, and Mexico's second most-visited port-of-call for major cruise lines and pleasure boats. Purchase your ENSENADA CARD at the San Diego Visitor Information Center in Mission Bay Park before heading south across the Border and you will save a tremendous amount of money when visiting Ensenada, and be guided to the participating members which include great restaurants, hotels, shops, and more....Visit Ensenada's website (see Ensenada link above) for the complete list of participating members. Carry this card, which is endorsed by the Mayor of Ensenada, and is complete with a toll-free number should you need assistance when traveling. TIJUANA:
